Pretty damn awesome. Found this while researching the best ways to put a diffuser on my car (Because track day bro and also because it has a hell of a rear overhang that's asking for one, also because I love ghetto engineering and hell no I'm not going to use fiberglass I'm using plastic and wood)

A guy on SN95 Forums made this one I love it.

I would love to do this to the Miata but...
A.) Never going fast enough to make it work.
B.) Rest of the underbody isn't flat as well.
C.) Don't want dirt/salt getting behind the panels on places I can't easily blast with water when I wash the car.
Still a great DIY write-up.

I want to do it because
A) Rice
B) Underbody is pretty much flat on my car
C) I'm bored and want to do cheap dumb shit to my car to pass the time.
I might do a garden-trim ground effects kit (that rubber stuff you press into the ground? Flip it upside down and it looks like an air dam) as well.

Bored, eh? Here's a fun idea for you to try.
1.) Remove headlights and blubs.
2.) Bake in oven at 350 degrees F for about 5-15 minutes
3.) Remove quickly
4.) Pry off lens
5.) Remove chrome trim (not the actual reflective chrome around the blub that makes headlights work, just the showy chrome with no purpose)
6.) Paint the chrome flat-black or tint chrome for a black-chrome look.
Optional.) Sand and re-clear headlight lens
7.) Reseal and re-heat in oven.
8.) Re-install for badass headlight looks.
Green is before, red is after (with projectors). Really sharpens up the looks of any vehicle.

Already got one? People really don't give the Crossfire (or SLK for that matter) enough credit.

There's a reason aerodynamic downforce is a bit of an artform, it takes a lot of understanding to make it work.
This diffuser won't do anything, not worth the time investment.

I've been considering that, actually. I have some flat-black paint that would look fantastic. I don't believe the "Trim" parts of chrome are removable, so I'll have to mask off the reflectors themselves if I do it.

That's pretty sweet. Why do the exhaust pipes curve to the left for (seemingly) no reason?

Yeah, but it looks cool and I'm a complete ricer.
Might not do a diffuser and just shove some plastic-wrapped and spray-painted cardboard there just to make the area under the rear of the car flat on the bottom. Meh.

Its impossible to find a photo of stock exhaust for some reason, but the diff is the lowest part so they all go around it.

Aah. From the angle of that other picture it looked like the diff and exhaust were on vastly different planes.

It is custom, so it might very well be. No supposed to be though.

there's probably a couple of tabs that are glued down. Just pop them out and the trim piece should come right out

If it is a one-piece design, then masking will be the best solution.

I can respect that honesty.
Yeah, but it looks cool and I'm a complete ricer.
